Dr. Michael Valos is Honorary Director of Industry Engagement, School of Marketing, Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia. Michael’s research has focused on multi-channel marketing, marketing communications, programmatic media buying, digital marketing and social media.
His research has appeared in a number of scholarly journals including the Journal of Marketing Management, The Journal of Strategic Marketing and the European Business review. He currently has a revise and resubmit with the European Journal of Marketing examining Programmatic media buying. He is the co-author of two textbooks on Integrated Marketing Communications.
Michael won best postgraduate teacher in 2022 for Integrated Marketing Communications and has taught many marketing courses: Consumer Behaviour, Marketing Management, Product Management, Market Research, Marketing Planning etc.
He conducts approximately 12 focus groups annually with senior marketers from Bluechip Organizations (i.e. Singapore Airlines, National Australia Bank, NBN, Unisuper, BP etc.) on topical marketing trends and issues. This informs his teaching magazine articles and University course curricula.
He earned his Ph.D. at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia and won 7 awards within the 16-unit Master of Marketing program also at Monash University.
