Our technology supports the learner community to meet their academic as well as research needs. JDL technology has been designed to be future proof, scalable and extensible, so that it can allow the institute to offer world-class library services to its members and over time to the wider public. |

In order to realise our vision, the Jio Institute Digital Library’s scope is vast and diverse in nature. In addition to conventional library functions, equal focus will be given to services and technologies which augment exclusive world-class collections as well as facilitate the Creation, dissemination, and sharing of knowledge.
Physical Books and Other Resources:
The library community will be able to access a wide range of physical material including books, magazines, and journals at the library. The online public access catalog (OPAC) is accessible through the Library portal. Reference and course reserve material can be consumed at the library, and other material can be borrowed at the Circulation desk. The library is open for 12 hours during working days.

Library members will be able to discover and access a wide range of electronic books, journals, and multi-media content. The material across publishers and content type can be accessed at any time, anywhere, including off-campus via a single sign-in credential.
LibGuides (https://guides.jioinstitute.edu.in):
The Library uses LibGuides to integrate all the open access, subscribed, and print resources. The content management system platform will ensure a seamless discovery, use, and distribution of all the resources that will support academic and research goals of the faculty and students.
Physical Spaces:
The library offers clean, comfortable, and well-designed physical spaces to support research and academic goals and foster collaboration. These include reading rooms, computers and Internet spaces, and meeting and workshop rooms.
Institutional Repository:
The library will preserve for the long term the scholarly work produced by the Institute’s students, researchers and faculty. This work will include theses, dissertations, and faculty papers. Material deposited in the repository can be discovered, viewed, and downloaded via the Institute’s discovery systems.
Teaching and Learning Support:
Library imparts user orientation/instruction sessions to familiarize Library resources and services to students, researchers, and faculty. In addition, user manuals, guides, tutorials, and academic support are provided to library users. Library will ensure an extended support to its community members to help them become lifelong learners.
Research Support:
The library offers research support to the researcher community. The library conducts workshops, publishes guides, and offers technology tools to support the community. Researchers can reach out to library staff for help with all stages of their research projects - from preparation, to gathering information, to publishing, preservation, and measurement.
Special Collections (https://exhibits.jioinstitute.edu.in):
The Library has curated various Special Collections: Indian Arts, Architecture, Culture, and Heritage, History of Mumbai, and COVID-19 with a vision to collect, preserve, and share the scattered knowledge. In addition to its collection, the Library has also partnered with the Stanford Libraries and BORI to leverage their expanse of digital artefacts and exhibits.
Book loans:
Physical material can be borrowed at the library during business hours, which runs a circulation desk on all working days. Requests and renewals can be done online.
Remote access to library collections:
Library users can access all of the library’s digital resources at any time, from anywhere, and using any kind of device. Asingle sign-inis required to access resources no matter what the material source is and no matter where the user is - in campus or outside of it. Jio institute community will be provided with the required credentials.
