Women Leaders' Programme Organised for Jio-Bp Explicated the Fundamentals of Leadership

The Women’s Leadership Programme, conducted by Jio-bp in collaboration with Jio Institute on November 28–29, aimed to empower women leaders with the skills to manage teams effectively and empathetically. The program featured the Katz framework, emphasizing technical, interpersonal, and conceptual skills, and encouraged participants to embark on transformative journeys.

Key sessions were delivered by renowned experts. Dr. Rakesh Godhwani, Founder of the School of Meaningful Experiences, highlighted the importance of fluent interpersonal relationships in fostering high-performing office environments. Dr. Padmaja Palekar, Head of Global People Experience at Unilever, provided practical insights on mentoring through role plays. Dr. Anuradha Narasimhan of IIT Bombay addressed work-life balance, while Dr. Nilay Yajnik, Director & Professor, Executive Education, Jio Institute shared leadership lessons from knowledge-driven industries. Dr. Dipak Jain, Vice Chancellor of Jio Institute, offered global leadership perspectives. A cultural aspect included discussions on Nelson Mandela’s leadership, focusing on virtues like determination and standing firm on beliefs.

The program concluded with CEO Harish Mehta commending its alignment with Jio-bp’s diversity and inclusion goals. CFO Vinod Tahiliani delivered the valedictory address and awarded certificates of participation. The event was supported by leaders like Ms. Rachita Chatterjee and Mr. Yogesh Mallik, fostering discussions on applying learnings to workplace decision-making and influence.

The Women's Leadership Programme at Jio Institute, organized for women leaders of Jio-BP, is a transformative initiative designed to empower and develop leadership skills. The programme focuses on enhancing leadership traits such as intelligence, self-confidence, determination, integrity, and sociability. Through experiential learning, participants engage in practical exercises, simulations, and interactive sessions to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. The programme also emphasizes effective communication, self-awareness, and networking opportunities, supporting the Diversity and Inclusion roadmap. This comprehensive approach aims to make leaders more effective, communicative, and collaborative in their roles.

Programme Schedule

The Women's Leadership Programme, hosted by Jio Institute from November 28-29, 2024, was a two-day residential executive education initiative designed for 26 women managers from Jio-bp. The programme aimed to develop leadership capabilities with a focus on empathy, strategic thinking, decision-making, and work-life balance.

Day 1 included sessions on foundational leadership thinking, strategic perspectives in the VUCA environment, and the principles of strategic decision-making. The day concluded with activities such as a leadership-themed movie or team-building exercises.

Day 2 emphasized managing teams with empathy, mentoring, and fostering entrepreneurial thinking. It featured interactive discussions, case studies, and activities aimed at developing self-leadership, managing stress, and enhancing personal branding. The day wrapped up with reflections, certificate distribution, and networking.

The programme was led by prominent faculty, including Dr. Rakesh Godhwani (School of Meaningful Experiences), Dr. Padmaja Palekar (Unilever), and Dr. Anuradha Narasimhan (IIT Bombay). Sessions were interactive, combining lectures, role-playing, and discussions to build conceptual and practical skills.

Held at Jio Institute's state-of-the-art campus in Navi Mumbai, the programme provided an enriching environment for participants to grow as leaders, preparing them for senior roles within Jio-bp.
