Dr. Maximilian Baust studied mathematics for science and engineering at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich from 2003 to 2008. He then joined the research group for Computer Aided Medical Procedures and Augmented Reality (CAMPAR) at TUM. In his doctoral thesis, he investigated variational methods for image segmentation and deformable image registration.
After his doctoral degree, Maximilian worked as a system engineer for camera-based driver assistance systems, as a postdoctoral researcher at TUM, and as a senior R&D engineer at Konica Minolta Laboratory Europe in the areas of medical image analysis, deep learning and robotics. In 2019, he joined NVIDIA as manager of the solution architecture team for healthcare in EMEA. After working for a startup in the area of medical devices for a couple of months, he is now managing NVIDIA’s Developer Technology Engineering team for Deep Learning in EMEA.
