Viren Rasquinha is a field hockey player and the former captain of the Indian national team having played more than 180 matches for the country. He represented India at the 2004 Athens Olympics and been part of the team that won Gold at the Asia Cup at Kuala Lumpur and at the Afro Asian Games in 2003. He quit international hockey in 2008 to pursue management studies at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad from where he graduated in 2009 and straight joined OGQ.
Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ), a not-for-profit foundation that supports Indian athletes in their endeavour to win Olympic and Paralympic medals, was founded by Geet Sethi and Prakash Padukone. OGQ has the place of pride in Indian Olympic story. Under Viren's leadership, OGQ has played a key role in 13 out of the 21 medals that India has won in 2012, 2016, 2020 and 2024 Olympics. Also athletes supported by OGQ won 25 of the 29 medals at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. Along with Pullela Gopichand and Abhinav Bindra, he was also a member of the PMO Task Force that prepared India's plans for the Olympic Games in 2020, 2024 and 2028.
