Pat Pattabhiraman is the Head of Human Language Technology and Distinguished Scientist in the Centre of Excellence for AI at Reliance Jio Platforms. His responsibilities encompass all aspects of speech technology and natural language processing with an emphasis on Indian languages. Recently, “Dr. Pat” completed a stint with Uniphore Software Systems, where he founded and led their Core Technology practice. Earlier at Conversely, Dr. Pattabhiraman contributed to the design and development of major components of speech recognition and text-to-speech systems in multiple languages.
His efforts resulted in commercial products deployed on over 8 million devices around the world. At Seagate Software (now SAP Canada) in Vancouver, he architected a natural language interface to Crystal Reports and developed several of its major modules. Dr. Pattabhiraman has a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and a PhD in Computing Science from Simon Fraser University. He is currently an Advisor at Yactraq.com and an Associate Researcher in the Natural Language Lab at Simon Fraser University.
