Dr. Khyathi Chandu

Research Scientist, Allen Institute of AI, USA

Dr. Khyathi is a Research Scientist at the Allen Institute for AI, working within the Mosaic project alongside Dr. Yejin Choi and her team. She recently completed their Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University's Language Technologies Institute, advised by Dr. Alan W. Black, Dr. Eric Nyberg, and Dr. Yonatan Bisk, with a focus on grounded multimodal long-form generation.

Research Areas:

  • Science of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Vision Language Models (VLMs): This research seeks to improve the reliability and awareness of LLMs and VLMs by minimizing hallucinations (false outputs).
  • Multimodal Distillation: This area investigates how LLMs and VLMs can synergize, essentially helping each other learn and perform better
  • Interactive Agents for Reasoning and Generation: This research aims to develop AI agents capable of planning and executing complex interactive tasks.

Achievements
