Zia Saquib is working as Senior Vice President of Technology Innovation & Development at Jio Platforms Ltd., since August 2017.
Prior to this he worked as Executive Director of Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Mumbai for about12 years, from Jan 2006 till July 2017, where he headed the R&D in biometrics, cyber-security and e-governance. Many such initiatives later culminated into successful products under the National e-Governance Plan of India.
His primary interests are in the areas of Adaptive Signal Processing, Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence. He applies these areas to develop technology for Government-to-Citizen Platforms & Healthcare applications. Lately, he has rolled out a healthcare AI portal that addresses the gap in rural and remote areas for screening and detection of diabetic eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and age related macular edema.
